Love Enough

When my heart gets tired of waiting,

I feel Your gentle touch

as You tenderly remind me

to stop worrying so much

You know the plans You have for me,

the man You’ve set aside

Your timing is always perfect

Your ways, much better than mine

Although I get impatient,

I may plead, and beg, and cry,

I know You know what’s best for me,

and only Your Love can truly satisfy.

“Satisfy us in the morning with your unfailing love,

that we may sing for joy and be glad all our days.”

*Conditions Do Not Apply

asteriskUnconditional love: affection with no limits or conditions, complete love. (Dictionary.com)

God loves you. Unconditionally. Forever, no matter what. You can’t make Him unlove you, ever. I love how the Message Bible translates Psalm 103:12.

As far as sunrise is from sunset, He has separated us from our sins.”

He has wiped them away, given us a fresh start. You don’t need to beat yourself up about a that mistake you made last year. Don’t punish yourself for your past wrong doings. God has completely forgotten about them. He sees you as His pure, perfect child.

Don’t let yourself get caught up in the *conditions apply mindset. The love of God doesn’t come with any catches. He just asks us to trust Him completely and know in our hearts that His plans are always better than ours.

“For God so loved the world, He gave His one and only Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life.” (John 3:16, NIV)

It doesn’t say “that whoever is perfect,” or “that whoever doesn’t have tattoos and piercings,” “that whoever hasn’t committed a crime,” “that whoever feels worthy.” Because of the Cross, because of the Blood, four nails, a crown of thorns, unimaginable pain, we’re all worthy of His love. Don’t continue to kick yourself for something God forgave you for a long time ago.

Whoever: whatever person, any person at all.

Any person at all.

God loves you, forever and always. To the world, we’re flawed and sinful. To God, we’re perfect, pure, and holy. Just put your life in His hands and trust Him completely, you won’t regret it.

Paid in Full

Cross and Nails

Two crisscrossed tree limbs

three sharp nails

that held His body there

He shed His blood

on Calvary’s Mount

to show how much He cares

The pain He bore

was all for us

He sacrificed His life

For our home in Heaven

a life everlasting

He paid the ultimate price

Broken Pieces

image

Broken and scattered
each piece has a story
My life was a mess
but could still bring You glory

You picked up my pieces
Your grace became glue,
Your blood cleansed my sins,
made me shiny and new.

“Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come; the old has gone, the new has come!”

Through God’s Eyes

Mercy

Sin’s heavy burden,

The guilt and shame,

Your pillow stained with tears

The sleepless nights,

Your countless prayers,

Seemingly unanswered, does He hear?

Your past, He’s forgotten

Those sins? He’s erased

Each tear you shed, He’ll dry

Loved and forgiven,

Accepted and worthy,

That’s how you look through God’s eyes.

“So now there is no condemnation for those who belong to Christ Jesus. And because you belong to him, the power of the life-giving Spirit has freed you from the power of sin that leads to death. The law of Moses was unable to save us because of the weakness of our sinful nature. So God did what the law could not do. He sent his own Son in a body like the bodies we sinners have. And in that body God declared an end to sin’s control over us by giving his Son as a sacrifice for our sins. He did this so that the just requirement of the law would be fully satisfied for us, who no longer follow our sinful nature but instead follow the Spirit.”

~Romans 8:1-4 (NLT)

Dear Christian Single

Dear Christian Single,

God's Best

I know it may seem like God has forgotten about you. You may feel like that you’re never going to find the spouse of your dreams and you’ll be single forever. Just keep hanging in there! You’re in this season of singleness for a good reason, although you may never find out why, God knows and that’s all that matters. Don’t lose hope, God hasn’t forgotten about you! His timing is perfect and when He finally brings you to the person He’s been preparing for you, you’ll realize that the wait was more than worth it. As you’re waiting, don’t put your life on hold because you feel as though you can’t go any further until you’re married. Use this time to your advantage, after all, God has put you here for a reason! Strengthen your relationship with Him, pray for your future spouse, make a list of qualities you want to find in and have for that spouse.

“Draw near to God and He will draw near to you…”

James 4:8 (NKJV)

Most of us can probably say that we honestly don’t spend enough time with God each day. I know I have days when I get out of bed, throw myself together, and go into work without even touching my Bible. Let me tell you, I can feel it by the end of the day! Even if you don’t always have time to open up your Bible, make sure to acknowledge Him each morning and evening. Whether it be a quick little prayer about your day, a “Thank You” now and then throughout the day, or even starting your day with some praise music on the way to or getting ready for work or school. You don’t have to spend an hour in your Bible and in prayer for it to count. Use your season of singleness to find different ways to draw closer to Him. Better yet, use this time to serve Him and love on His people. Volunteer, get involved with your church in different ways, mentor someone younger than you, there are plenty of opportunities! Watch, listen, and be open to change as he prepares your heart for that special person!

“Take delight in the Lord,
and he will give you the desires of your heart.”

Psalm 37:4 (NIV)

Pray for your future spouse! It may seem silly because you don’t know who you’re praying FOR, but God does. Use your list of qualities as a guideline for your prayers. Also pray that the Lord will continue to prepare your heart and shape you into the person He needs you to be for that spouse.

You can kind of pick out the qualities I’m looking for in my future husband in a past post of mine entitled “From Me, with Love” go check it out and maybe take the time to write out a letter to your future spouse as well!

“God intends and expects marriage to be a lifetime commitment between a man and a woman, based on the principles of biblical love. The relationship between Jesus Christ and His church is the supreme example of the committed love that a husband and wife are to follow in their relationship with each other.”

~ John C. Broger

Show Me, God

Show Me, GodHolding hands with Jesus

Show me, O God, Your perfect plan,

In You I put my trust,

No more will I ask “Why me? Why this?”

No longer shall I fuss.

Your ways are so much better

Than my own selfish plans,

My life is Yours completely,

But I’ll need to hold Your hand.
